About Us
Helping The Children of Inishowen
Buncrana's Children's Charity was founded in 2016 by Adrian McMyler and is currently run by our fantastic committee of 9 volunteers.
BCC was originally set up to help children in the Buncrana area, however, as there was a huge demand for our services, we expanded our reach and we now offer our services to children and families living throughout Inishowen.
Our aim is to help local children and their families who are sick, suffering from long term medical illnesses or children who are going through a difficult time including children who have for example broken limbs, suffered a tragic bereavement etc.

Our Services
We offer three different services for children and their families:
1. Financial Support
This service helps families with expenses from the child being sick or other unforeseen circumstances that impact the family e.g. treatment costs, hospital stays, fuel to travel for medical appointments, house fire etc.
2. Hospital/Smile Bags
If a child is in hospital, sick or going through a difficult time, you can nominate them to receive a goodie bag to help put a smile back on their face.
3. 'Smile for a Child' Wish
A sick child can make a wish and we will try our best to make it come true such as trips to football matches, Center Parks etc. For example, we sent a family to Tayto Park as they were forced to cancel their holiday abroad due their child's.
​We do not receive Government funding of any sort. We rely solely on donations, events, fundraising and through funds raised in our Charity Shop to continue our work.

We are extremely lucky to have a great community which supports their own local charities with extreme generosity and we truly appreciate each donation.
